MILLER ELDER LAW

Shannon Miller is the founder of The Miller Elder Law Firm and a Florida Bar Board Certified Elder Law Attorney. She earned her B.A. from Virginia Tech, her J.D. from the University of Maryland, and served in the United States Marine Corps before being admitted to The Florida Bar in 1994. She later became certified as a Circuit Civil Mediator and Arbitrator by the Florida Supreme Court and achieved Board Certification in Elder Law in 2011, a distinction awarded to attorneys with the highest level of expertise in the field.
Shannon’s commitment to elder advocacy is rooted in personal family experiences, inspiring her to focus on protecting seniors’ independence, assets, and quality of life. She is widely regarded as a leader in elder exploitation prevention and Life Care Planning, and she frequently teaches and presents to legal, medical, and community organizations across the country. Shannon approaches every client with compassion and clarity, helping families navigate both routine planning and complex care challenges.
She is actively involved in multiple professional organizations, including the Elder Law Section of The Florida Bar - where she currently serves as Chair - the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association, and the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys. Shannon has also served in numerous leadership positions and continues to mentor attorneys throughout Florida. Outside of her work, she enjoys yoga, breathwork, traveling, animals, and investing.

Genna Fasullo LaPeer is the CEO of The Miller Elder Law Firm and an Elder Law Attorney dedicated to serving seniors and their families with clarity and compassion. Originally from Toronto, she graduated with honors from the University of Western Ontario and earned her J.D. magna cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. She is licensed in both Florida and New York and began her legal career as a prosecutor handling a wide range of criminal cases.
Genna’s passion for elder law grew from her desire to guide individuals through complex and emotional transitions with dignity. At the firm, she focuses on Medicaid planning, estate planning, probate and trust administration, guardianship, special needs planning, exploitation cases, and Life Care Planning. As CEO, she helps lead the firm’s strategic vision and ensures an exceptional client experience grounded in professionalism and empathy.
She is an active member of The Florida Bar, the New York Bar, the Academy of Florida Elder Law Attorneys, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association. Genna lives in Gainesville with her husband, Scott, and their children, Jackson and Ava, and enjoys running, traveling, snow sports, soccer, and cooking
Alachua County Property Appraiser

Ayesha Solomon has served as the Alachua County Property Appraiser since 2021. She began her career in the office in 2001 and has worked in nearly every division, giving her a deep understanding of property assessments and community needs.
Under her leadership, the office earned the Certificate of Excellence in Assessment administration, one of the highest distinctions in the profession. She also served as President of the Florida Association of Property Appraisers, where she led the successful merger with the Property Appraisers’ Association of Florida, strengthening collaboration across the state.
In 2026, she was also recognized as a Woman Who Makes a Difference, highlighting her leadership and contributions to the Alachua County community. Ms. Solomon is committed to fair and equitable assessments, transparency, and community-focused service, ensuring all Alachua County residents have the information and resources they need about their property.

Lally Gomez-Roberts is the Director of Public Service, Exemptions, and Investigations for the Alachua County Property Appraiser’s Office. With over 15 years of experience in governmental appraisal and public administration, she brings deep expertise in property tax exemptions, compliance, and customer-focused service.
Lally began her career with the Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser’s Office, where she earned her Certified Florida Evaluator (CFE) designation. Since joining Alachua County in 2021, she has taken on a key leadership role overseeing multiple divisions, guiding high volume operations, and ensuring compliance with Florida Statutes and Department of Revenue requirements.
She is recognized for her strategic leadership, subject-matter expertise, and commitment to delivering accurate, equitable, and transparent public service.

Chris began his career in property assessment in 2001 as a commercial appraiser with the Miami-Dade County Property Appraiser’s Office. In 2007, he relocated to Alachua County, where he continued his appraisal work with the Alachua County Property Appraiser. He brings more than 25 years of experience in real estate appraisal across both the public and private sectors, complemented by a background in real estate sales, leasing, and property management.
Chris currently serves as Director of Valuation, overseeing the appraisal of residential, commercial, and tangible personal property. In this role, he provides strategic leadership for valuation operations, guides his team through complex assessment challenges, and represents the office in Value Adjustment Board (VAB) proceedings.
